Well done James who took out our last game in a replay of the November heads up match against Thanh.

For those playing at home our big stack game lasted 3 hours and 15 minutes, with the next longest games lasting 2 hours 50 and 2 hours 40 so the extra chips in play didn't have that big of an impact on the duration in the end. It seemed like the last 4-5 got eliminated quite quick though so under normal circumstances i think it would've lasted a little longer. James and Thanh were only heads up for maybe 5-10 minutes as well which is probably as quick as any heads up battle has lasted!

    - Thanh, i'll add your $70 to your balance
    - James you're now owed $190 after winning $110 today
    - Dan, you're now owed $40 after missing today and i'll transfer funds shortly
    - Mikey, you're still owed $30 from our October game.

James and Mikey, send us your bank deets and i'll transfer asap.

I'll do a quick summary of the comp in my next post.

Maybe some kind of handicap system for the mods next year based on this years results.

Congrats ts on a nice finish to James and to the overall winners. Thanks to everybody for help bringing me into the seedy world that is Texas Holdem.

Well done all. I'll sit out next year as I have the attention span of a Murray Cod. IDIG please donate my winnings to the upkeep of SCS.

Too funny. I didn't even realise that was the case until it was pointed on.

Hopefully it can happen in the cash leagues next year...but preferably with us finishing in a different order.

Not sure you're gonna need that handicap doc. Your play improved immensely as the comp went on and the results speak for themselves.

First 6 months, total points 14
Last 6 months, total points 25.5

A couple of small changes you could make and i reckon you'd be right in the action next year (if we go again).

Looking unlikely at this stage but perhaps we organise a big tournament later in the year. Deeper stack and bigger buy in, etc.

Sorry mate completely missed this. We’ll probably just give this year a miss now as I’ve left it too late and work is killing me these days and can’t be confident I’ll have the time to commit to managing this.

Thanh’s lucky, I reckon Ive got him figured out now so would’ve been easy pickings!

Hey guys, a bit of a random one.

If you guys are playing online for fun (ie. free money), i'd recommend heading over to https://coinpoker.com/ and spending your time there.

The site has a bunch of freerolls which allows you to win cryptocurrency which can then be traded to other crypto coins through a bunch of exchange sites. I'm not sure of the exact figure but these can be exchanged for Etherium which is worth $2k i believe. Obviously with it being a freeroll, you'd need to win and play a whole bunch but if ur playing for free, this would at least give you the potential to win something, ahem, big

It takes a bit of time to get your head around all the crypto exchange stuff but if ur playing on there and winning, that's the main thing.

What do you guys think of this hand from a home game last night?

Blinds are $1:$1, villain is EP and unknown to me but from what I have seen doesn’t play text book type poker, I am LP.

I have my usual loose table presence after stacking off twice and being out drawn. But by that stage of the night I’d recovered to be up maybe $100.

The game is quite loose. Lots of limping pre flop and we were playing 12 handed lol

    I’m holding Jh8h
    Preflop about 5-6 limp
Flop J62 rainbow. Checked to me, I bet $5, villain calls
    Turn 10, we both check
    River 10, villain checks, I bet $10, villain raises to $30, I fold/call/shove???

Villain probably has a pretty wide hand range but I can’t see how he’s holding a 10 unless maybe 10 6 suited and I don’t think he has the discipline or knowledge of my game to know I’ll bet with air on the river in that position (like I usually would).

What are you guys doing here?

    12 handed!

5-6 limping in, means someone has come in with rubbish ........ usually.
I'd be worried about a 10, and being out kicked. Unless he has shown during the night he will make bluffs like this, cut bait and run.
    Fold.
