My current thinking is to move the Quad Margins into the game, whilst still forming a bonus point in The Ladder, and move the Player Goals out, whilst keeping them as part of the Snake in the grass.

Thoughts on this, and any other, aspect of the game?

    Thanks for running this KLo.

One thought I had, is that I found it difficult to keep track of how I was doing (perhaps this was as it was spread over 2 days?). My opinion would be to simplify it a bit, for example perhaps just 1 set of pick 3, disposals , goals, score over the day rather than an early/mid/late version for all?

    I am with Jaca.
Actually found it hard to track how we were doing. Needs to be simplified a little to keep it interesting in terms of being readily easy to track. Still also a bit confused about the jellybean jar being part of it, but not...lol

Yep, I agree it was a bit hard to track our progress unlike the other BBL games we had. I still didn't quite get who "won" in the end, was it jaca?

Appreciate your efforts, but a bit simpler would be nice!

I think we can overcome the tracking by posting results of categories at half time (, 3QT) and end of game. This was more difficult this weekend as we had little access to Supercoach scores. With help we could use a table that can easily be cut and pasted, and altered, to keep people abreast of the competition.

    The Jelly Bean Jar Progressive

The Jelly Bean Jar is a bonus point for closest to the highest Supercoach score for Super Saturday.

As a game in progression nobody "wins" each week, unlike The Sunday Roast. Jaca had a good week and would be ahead.

Most people got multiple game margins correct, which should satisfy the easier aspect.

That seems like a modification that would simplify things.
Can I suggest that the Quad, rather than have a dividend, has 1 point for each correct selection, but 6 points if you get all 4 correct?
Also, maybe a slight shift in the result scoring brackets. It might be best if the majority don't get a negative score each week.
Maybe the points are the points, and a bonus set of points added for 1st, 2nd and 3rd each week?
We're goin' to need a bigger boat...

    Like Rowsus suggestions.
Yeah, trying to work out the several iterations of scores to work out overall score needs reeling in.

Compared to Friday Night Lights and The Sunday Roast, Super Saturday is meant to be a truer test of football knowledge. It will require more research, and be more frustrating as a result.

I think those that do their research will get better results than those that simply show up and select from week to week. For example, the margins are not randomly selected. I am after all a Mathematician.

Snakes and Ladders as a child should have taught resilience and a never give up attitude (Steven Bradbury). Let's hope that in 2016 contestants can showcase those qualities.

I'm not interested in 2016 either.

Do not get us wrong Klo30. Great comp mate. Just needs tinkering with a little so the tables are easier to follow what is going on with scores etc.
Hope you understand the feedback is meant to assist. Not to detract. So if you felt it was knocking your efforts sorry if you felt that way. Anything but and hope you understand where my comments were coming from.

So, I've shifted the scoring scale for Snakes and Ladders. It still has 0 for (4-3), -1 (2-1) and -3 for zero. In addition, I removed the most difficult categories out of the scoring, namely the goal margins. They remain for the purposes of the Snake in the Grass only. I've replaced them with the game margins, which still make up the The Ladder bonus, which now stands at 2 points.

With these changes no-one would have received negative points in our trial, though there were still a few zeros. Full details can be found in post #3. Regular posting of results will occur, with the cooperation of members, which will help contestants keep track of progress throughout Super Saturday.
