    @Grainfebeef

    Your point on having 1 less premium mid and having that premium in the fwd to eliminate the weak rookie and have a stronger rookie in the middle is a good one. However I think though that consideration needs to be made for the 2 premiums in this scenario also.

    Yes Oli Wines would likley score 15-25 more points than say a J neade or Thom lee however similarly this is likley offset by the premium forward likley scoring 15-25 less than the premium mid that has been given up.

    If it was accepted that the points differences were the same for both combos then it comes down to cash generation as the deciding factor for which this article demonstrates.

    Also we need to consider that a premium mid vs a premium fwd has advantages imo as the premium mid is likley to score more consitantly and as priced far higher is harder to trade up to and get into our teams. Given this my choice would be to have the premium mid and weaker rookie vs the premium fwd and stronger mid rookie.

    Thoughts?

    @ moosey

    Agreed on your point about the mid scoring 20 pts more.

    I have Neade and mcaffer on the bench. Assuming I still have $700k to spend, roughly the decision may be Scott Thompson in Mids and Tom lee in fwd line vs Steve Johnson and koby Stevens. I consider Tom lee as a weak choice as may not get games or score within 20 pts of koby Stevens. Re consistently, swap Johnson for bartel and you have consistency.

    The issue for me is identifying depth in fwd rookies.

    I voted Vlastuin and Wines but had only $600 left over and Neade in F8 with Colquhoun in D8.

    Really not liking how brittle the cash and Port rookie situation is looking. Docherty hasn't impressed me much either. I don't have Crouch at the moment because I can't shake the feeling he will get subbed a couple of times, ruining his cash generation. However, Vlastuin -> Crouch opens up 44K which I can hold on to until round 3

    Mind you... Ablett -> Murphy and Crouch -> K Lucas is looking pretty bloody juicy atm....

    Actually... Ablett to Jack and maybe Moloney to Lucas. Frees up enough to fix the Leuenberger issue. Probably not a discussion for this thread though.

    Only the 1 premo for me. Vlastuin. V4.0 of Tigers ManChild recruits. Refer previous years Martin, Conca, Ellis. By default JOM and Viney are default premo's for me. So I have 3 but paid for 1.

    Be wary the softly, softly approach GWS takes. Whitfield will be 2 weeks on 1 week off etc, etc.

    To get around this and have a 'bit of a look' first. I go for the cheaper rookies. Then after R2 Whitfield is already smashing it and named for R3. I trade him in. Better to use 1 or 2 of your trades to get that 'Toby Greene' of 2013. I think the Greene of 2013 is probably the JaegerMeister. Been at the club for over a year now.
