It's a valid point, the AFL is a national competition and as such the highest place club should earn the right to a home GF. It happens in nearly every sport in the world that the top team earns a home GF (the NFL being a major exception) it Should have been changed when we changed from the VFL to the AFL to provide as fair a competition as possible. The system we have is still biased towards Victoria.

Dusty got a lot of cheap possessions late, the over whelming concensious among the group I was watching the game with was that Houli was BOG.

I reckon houli as well but Dusty a close 2nd. Kinda feel like Dusty was the romantic pick with the year he's had.

actually thought Dusty was instrumental in getting them back in the game in the 2nd quarter.

I guess we all see the game differently

I don't buy into that personally, the MCG is the home of Australian rules and I hope the GF is played there forever.

Ticket allocation is another story all together.

Rance most influential player on the ground for mine by the way, robbed of an extra medal.

Bad luck mate, horrible feeling being a supporter of a losing GF team.

Crows should immediately try to get Cameron and Lever to stay... Losing those 2 plus the loss of Smith for next season will really hurt I reckon.

All kudos to Richmond. Best team on the day. More kudos to assistants at Richmond like Caracella and Balme. Will very interested to see how Caracella go as a senior coach. Not fussed by Hardwicke. Still just a very average coach- I classify as "incomplete", as in he has serious flaws. Still he is not an orphan. I'm a West Coast fan and I rate Woosha in the same category.

It was a pretty even performance from Richmond really. Rance was huge early but then faded (mainly due to the ball not being anywhere near him), Dusty was just 'normal' Dusty (which is still better than most players best) and Houli was good once they got rolling.
I think if Houli converted his second half shots to end with 3 goals he gets Norm Smith, happy enough with Dusty really when you look at the stats.

I know I'm late to the party but I've been fortunate enough to have been able to go to every Richmond finals game this year including the Grand Final. My first ever. And I have to say it has been my greatest sporting experience of my life. In the qualifying final vs Geelong I yelled and cheered so loud and so long that I lost my voice for 3 days. For the Prelim vs the Giants I had to Vline train it to and from the game from Ballarat because my girls were performing in ballet competitions there. By some fluke my cousin and his young son were seated only a few rows behind me and we were able to experience and celebrate the win over the Giants together. I was as sick as a dog with the flu but it was worth it. In grand final week I painted my fence after a dare from my Hawthorn supporting neighbour. People were stopping at the house to take photos of themselves in front of it.

My Crows supporting work colleague from our SA office sent me me balloons in the Crows colours to my office as a gift with the message to "not get too down when the best team wins" After the Tiges won I sent him back a picture of them after I deflated the balloons with a note saying "When I returned to work on Monday I was disappointed to discover that the lovely balloons you sent me had deflated. Possibly they have failed under immense pressure" I loved the banter. The week leading up to the GF had a real party/celebration feel about it.

For the Grand Final my brother in law, a fellow Tigers fan flew down from Sydney with GF tickets from his connections in the gaming industry and we couldn't believe what was happening. Sometimes it still doesn't feel real. In each of the games, even when we were almost 6 goals up I was still nervous and telling myself there is 10 mins left so still enough time for the opposition to score enough goals to win. Too many scars from being a long suffering Richmond supporter. On the Sunday I took my girls to Punt Road, bought them all the premiership t-shirts, hats etc... I could afford so that they would remember the day as it might be another 37 years before it happens again.

    Good times.

Sorry for me turning this into a bit of a blog but I thought you, my fellow Super Coach friends would understand my experience and journey.
