Pendlebury. Easy decision for me. The Captain of the team I follow. Bit of a POD as well.

The ladder leading Giants will not be taking any chances with a player of Kelly's ilk so early in the season given how important he is to their fortunes.
Having already lost key playmakers Tom Scully and Zak Williams for much of the season, the last thing the Giants want is to push Kelly to the point where the issue becomes debilitating and jeopardises his on-field performance.
The Giants do not see Kelly's problem as a long-term concern if properly managed.
The firmer surface at Etihad Stadium, the venue for their clash with the lowly St Kilda, will be another reason for the Giants to err on the side of caution with the silky skilled on-baller.

I’ve got Cogs already I ended up getting McLean which saved me around 195k plus my other trade to Crowden now this week I’m tossing up Gray myself and Heeney, leaning towards Heeney at this stage

Yuk, if he's not back in this week I think he's gotta go.

J Kelly has already missed 1 week, he's close to playing again. If no complications, he should be playing next week, one more week to hold him.
For League Comps, I'm leaning to wait the week. For the $50K Comp, maybe trade him, especially if you haven't used too many trades yet.

If Kelly's issue has been managed in the past and he has been scoring well, and the Giants do not see it being a problem if managed properly, then that sounds like he's worth keeping.

I went Heeney as I foolishly didn't start with him. He will sit in my Mids for a few weeks until Danger is just the right price.

GREATER Western Sydney are again likely to be without star midfielder Josh Kelly and ruckman Rory Lobb for Saturday's clash with St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.

"He had a fair bit of this last year and managed it, but some weeks can be not as great as others.

"We're not concerned in terms of (having to) rest him for six or eight weeks, but we're making sure that when he does participate in full-on footy again, he can cope for the week after and the week after that."

Sounds like he has some OP and could be managed for the course of the year.

    Yeah, he didn't train today.
I reckon I'm just gonna trade him. I'd like a round where I have all my premiums playing for once lol.

Matthew Kreuzer not a certain starter this week for Blues. Still a bit sore, more likely to play than miss, but still in some doubt @7NewsMelbourne

Gee he's making it hard to keep him, even if he does play he probably won't score too well anyway

This article looks a little different to the other comments, another two weeks, however it is NOT a 6-8 week break they are talking about.

GWS taking a long-term approach to Josh Kelly’s groin injury, even if it means short-term pain
    Neil Cordy, The Daily Telegraph
    April 18, 2018 5:00pm
GWS Giants coach Leon Cameron is taking a long-term view with injured midfield gun Josh Kelly, even if it means some short-term pain.

Kelly is set to be rested for another two weeks as he continues to struggle with a groin injury.

Cameron revealed Kelly struggled with the same problem for all of last year but missed only the Round 14 win over the Brisbane Lions.

“I’d like him to be going better,” Cameron said.

We’re not resting him for six or eight weeks, we are making sure that when he does participate in full on footy again … he can cope for the week after and the week after that because it’s pointless just coming in for one or two or out for another two.

“He managed this last year for the entire year, some weeks are better than others.”

After falling at the preliminary final stage for the last two seasons, Cameron wants his most damaging midfielder to be firing on all cylinders at the back end of the season.

However the Giants coach is clearly conflicted by the need to win games now, including Saturday’s clash with St Kilda at Etihad Stadium and secure a top four finish and the long term view.

“Do you give him a longer break instead of patching it up in Round 10, 12 or 13, that’s the dilemma we have,” Cameron said.

“Do we give him a week or two off and get him right for later on in the year or do we throw him in this week. He has some good days and others when he is sore. You just get found out with 80 per cent or 90 per cent players. He’s been sore in his groin and his adductor (muscle), it’s wear and tear.”

Kelly finished fifth in last year’s Brownlow Medal, won the Kevin Sheedy Medal and All-Australian honours in a breakout season.

“He’s been running but I’d like him to be doing more of the football work,” Cameron said.

Rory Lobb is pushing for selection after a week off with knee soreness but could struggle to force Dawson Simpson out of the team after his impressive effort against Fremantle’s Aaron Sandilands.

“With bone bruising you are making the decision of whether he will be 90 or 95 per cent (right) and you never get back to 100 per cent,” Cameron said.

“Rory is not far off it, he has had some good sessions but with Dawson in good form you make those sort of decisions with that in mind.”

Jeremy Cameron (knee and foot) and Sam Reid (ankle) missed training but are expected to play against the Saints.

Zac Langdon (hand) is also likely to be available to play this week and Brent Daniels (knee) and Matt Buntine (knee) will play the following week in the NEAFL.

4 games played , chance of a rest , save 2 long flights , good chance to freshen him up.

put some serious ruck time in Lycett.

I have Nic Nat at R2 and Lycett at R3 at present.

    Tom Hickey is cheap :-)

You know me too well. I've given Hickey a good look as well, against GWS this week as well but alas i've already used too many trades to start messing around with the Hickey's of the world.
