Big Bash Fantasy League (BBL|07) Fantasy

    BBL|07 Fantasy

After a few really successful BBL seasons we will be again setting up some SCS invite leagues in the hope of taking out the league prize ($4,000). As always we will just keep opening up other leagues that everyone is free to join, probably just get in one to begin with and as we near the start of the BBL and most of our members are signed up and in leagues we can keep doubling up.

Each team plays an extra 2 matches this year. There are 10 rounds with exactly 4 matches each round prior to the SF round (round 11) and Final (round 12).

***Note that there is an error in denoting the BYE teams on the Fantasy Site for Rd8 and Rd9. For Rd8, replace Stars with Renegades as the BYE team and for Rd9, replace Hurricanes with Heat as the BYE team.

Whilst waiting for GG to finalise the 'Invite Only' Leagues, I've created SCS League 01 (code 254006) for those who wish to join an SCS league. There is no 'special requirements' to join and everyone is welcome. Can I ask that those who is the last to join a league (to complete the league) either create a new league 'SCS League 02, 03, etc. and post the league code here so others can continue to join. If for whatever reason, you're unable to create a new league, then please post here so someone else can create the new league.

Note the addition of bonus points for batsmen scoring 75+ runs (10 points) and 100+ runs (20 points). I suspect this is to offset the 1 point for every 'dot ball' bowled from last season.

    In BBL|06, only B McDermott achieved a score of 100+ (114 against the Renegades). There were a total of 11 scores between 75 to 99, of which C Lynn (84, 85 & 98) and B Dunk (79 & 85) the only players to achieved this feat multiple times. Others included R Quiney (75), M Henriques (76), M Klinger (81), D Hughes (85), M Harris (85) and T Paine (91).

In BBL|05, there were a total of 7 scores between 75-99, and 5 scores of over 100.

In BBL|04, there were a total of 12 scores between 75-99, and 2 scores of over 100.

In BBL|03, there were a total of 9 scores between 75-99, and 2 scores of over 100 (both by C Simmons).

In BBL|02, there were a total of 7 scores between 75-99, and 2 scores of over 100.

In BBL|01, there were a total of 7 scores between 75-99, and 3 scores of over 100.

In the first 6 seasons of the Big Bash, there has been a total of 68 scores over 75, of which 15 of them were over 100. Players with multiple 75+ scores include:

    8x C Lynn (1 over 100)
    5x S Marsh
    4x M Klinger (1 over 100)
    4x B Dunk
    3x A Finch (1 over 100)
    3x M Hussey
    2x C White
    2x C Gayle (1 over 100)
    2x C Simmons (both over 100)
    2x L Pomersbach (1 over 100)
    2x L Wright (both over 100)
    2x M Henriques
    2x N Maddinson
    2x R Quiney
    2x T Paine
    2x U Khawaja (both over 10)

Just went in to have a look and I see all the keepers are keeper/batsman MPPs!

I don’t know whether to be happy or sad as I’ve found nailing the right keeper combination according to form and the bye draw has helped get an advantage in the past.

I guess the challenge now is how many keepers will be too many!

Brad Hogg listed as a BAT/BWL Not sure how they came to that conclusion. Even more surprising is Jhye Richardson also listed as a BAT/BWL. Just something that jumped out at me.

Cameron Bancroft is Bat only should be Wk/Bat

Tom Cooper, Colin Ingram, Beau Webster, Matthew Short, Bat only should have Bwl as well

Pat Cummins, Ashton Agar bowler only thought they might get Bat as well.

Alex Carey is a $30k wicket keeper-batsman for the Strikers, probably a lock with Dunk gone and the form he’s in.

Count me in to any league you deem suitable. Can't remember last years finishing position, at a guess it was between 1500 to 2000.

Hey GG, are you implying that my team will be the laughing stock of any league? I’m feeling very self conscious that you have found a way to incorporate a “lol” into the middle of my username!
