Chris Lynn and Luke Wright V Glenn Maxwell and Dwayne Bravo ?

Lynn and Wright should both be openers and we will need Lynn for his double up games in rnd 2.
Maxwell and Bravo both have the x factor. Should bat around 4 or 5.

    Current squad.

Lynn/Maxwell, Finch, McCullum, Patterson, Peirson. (Maddison, Inglis.)

    Butler. (Carey.)

Watson, Bravo/Wright, S Khan, McClenegan, Nabi. (Cartwright, Gannon.)

Any suggestions welcomed ! I'm losing the plot over this one.

Firstly, provided starting prices don't deviate too much, you'll be left with around 51k (plus any left over funds) to get that 3rd and final trade for Rd2. Without knowing who you're targeting, that could limit your options for that 3rd trade.

Have you got a plan in place for when Maddinson goes large on your bench as Buttler will be locked out? Otherwise you may need to trade out one of your intended starting guns, if you want to execute on that Maddinson loop. Sometimes, keeping it simple is the best approach (playing both loop in BAT and BWL may over complicate this somewhat?)

I would say that starting 5 or 6 gun players, regardless of their DG status is critical for your team to have some continuity and momentum through the early rounds...I feel that you have considered and your starting team reflects this. Deciding on which group of gun players to start can be a never-ending debate, just back your research and gut feel and whatever will be will be.

Your Batting line looks strong enough, but somehow I can't help but feel that your Bowling line lacks a bit of punch. Maybe consider, re-jigging the positioning of some of your players (via the DPP status) to see if you can achieve a better balance overall, without compromising too much on your structure and DG plans.

Still a few days left to do some fine-tuning, but the nucleus of the team is there, just some trimming and smoothing out required around the edges.

All the best mate and hope you have a stellar season ahead.
Thanks again for taking the time out to offer comments on my side.

Need to look at my possible loop holes more closely.

I am pretty sure of 13 of my players the major ones at the moment is Finch or Lynn.

Good luck for your team and season as well.

Has also had his fair share of injuries. More performances like above and he might throw himself into the Scorchers selection frame.

Still in Victoria, has a contract still, however was part of the first ever BBL trade from memory which saw him go from Stars to Scorchers with Michael Beer heading the other direction.

Ah not sure, I would presume so. I do know he started back in the seconds for his grade club a month or two ago after an injury layoff, took a hattrick and after a couple of games getting back into it he was back into the firsts. So without having checked his MyCricket profile, I'd presume he's been playing Futures but could well be wrong.

Cheers mate , I will have a look on Cricinfo tomorrow.

Was surprised he was still only 24.

Can't see Zampa or Boyce playing test cricket , hope they give Swepson ago, so maybe Muirhead might get back to the VIC side although Ahmed and Holland are doing well.

Still think Holland is a better bowler than O'Keefe and Agar.

Thoughts or advice for my 1st go at my team? Went for a gun's and cheapies/rookies approach. I know my bench bowlers are weak and may not play but I will check the line ups closer to game day. Any help or comments are appreciated. Thanks guys

^ Does anyone know if Lyon would be a good spin coach?

He has plenty of time ahead of him yet, but it would be nice if we didn't have another revolving door of spinners after he retires ... and a successful spinner who isn't too busy playing poker or dating Liz Hurley could be a big help to young bowlers coming through.
