Krooz might be an exception this year, but history suggests that the odds might be against him.
When picking Gawn tho, people werent expecting him to be out for 3 months. I get the premise of expect the unexpected, and in this case, i think the unexpexted is that Krooz will back up an be thereabouts as to what he produced last season, possibly improve his sc output a touch more.

I don't expect Kreuzer to be a top 5 ruck this year, All things point towards 2017 being just a spike year. He just had a good season as simple as that.

He has only played all 22 games once in 10 years of footy (He played 21 games in each of the last 2 years... But that is still missed points). Has a career avg of 84.40 and only averaged over 93 twice in 10 seasons (2017 & 2013). And also has the arrival of Lobbe who you would think will impact him in some way.

Too many questions on him, and I don't think he has the ability to back it up in 2018.

I think Kreuzer might be there by default unless the Cox/Grundy influence is overstated, Archie gets injured, or we get a sudden rush of viable R3s popping up.

I think its worthwhile everyone finding a backup structure that doesn't include Nic nat at this stage. Even if he makes it to the line for round 1 there's still a chance he'll take a few weeks to reach full ratpower. Vardy/Lycett might also be tagging along for the ride.

The hawks really like Pittonet. I think he might be ahead of Ceglar for second ruck at hawthorn, if they go with a second.

Even with Tippett gone, he still may not get a game with Naismith and Sinclair in the same team.

I wouldn't start Cameron if there as a sub $150k ruck lining up in Round 1 and Cameron isn't in the Swans 25 in the first week.

Otherwise I think he is as good a stab in the dark as any cheap dpp F/R.

What’s his early draw like for loopholing purposes?

Pretty good for 4 rounds. Not very good after that. I don't have the supercoach picker but I think he lost his fwd status so English still has an extra skill as a donut.

Cheers. I usually like to run a good r/f donut for loopholing purposes, but this year may consider a playing (or close to playing) R3 for cover instead. Will have to think about this further in the coming months.

Naismith a bit of a plodder from what I've seen of him, which is not a lot to be honest. I'd highly doubt he's a walk up start in that side, would have to think if Cameron strings a few good ones together in the dew kickers he'd have to be a chance.

Shot in the dark with these R3s here's hoping him or English is named round 1 to eliminate the choice.

Dont think this is really telling us anything we dont already know re Nic Nat, but interesting nonetheless

Decent match-sim hit-out for West Coast after 4-day break. McGovern dominant down back, Partington found plenty of it + Waterman (plucked one-hander v Barrass) must be pushing for rd1. JK unsighted and Nic Nat still away from main group on light ruck duties, no jumping.

I've just done some tinkering and ended up with Ryder and Gawn instead of Gawn and NN.
It looks and feels a lot better.

Yes I may have a problem in R10, but that's better than a problem in R1 eh ?

I am considering the damage of the donut also, having Ryder,Hanley,Rocky could be a short term hit for a real bump up over the byes,
trade back into another 1 or 2 R10-12 players and you're suddenly coasting.

Nic Nat still on track for JLT.

    http://www.westcoasteagles.com.au/ne...jlt-series-mix
Nic Naitanui is on track to feature in West Coast’s fast-approaching JLT Community Series campaign, according to Eagles general manager of football Craig Vozzo.

In spite of adhering to a modified training program that has him working away from the man group at times, Naitanui is ticking all the boxes as he builds towards his first AFL appearance in 18 months.

“Big Nic, he is on track,” Vozzo said.

“Obviously it’s not a normal program, so he’s doing something that’s really specific to what has been tailored for Nic, as set by our [strength and conditioning] people, in combination with our medical (staff).

“He’s in and out of training when the main group trains, but the volume of his training has been really good. It’s a slow, graduated build up, very much with the JLT and then round one in mind.”

Ryder and a donut in R10 could still beat Jacobs + a 50 pt rookie in R14 (if not a donut as well).

Yeah but in Jacobs round you could field a side from anywhere within your Fwd/Mid/Ruc/Def line meaning better chance of fielding 18 and more chance it'll be a premium cover and not a rookie or donut like in Ryders round. You've got one to cover Ryder and an entire team to possibly cover Jacobs.
