I don't like your justification of Cox. That's one game out of 23. You might be stuck with Cox for the whole year. Why not just cop the donut in Round 10?

Have been playing around with JOM + Coniglio out, for Titch and Garlett, with Garlett going on bench for Banfield. This would give me the Tracca DPP swing and feels a bit safer!

Cox is big concern, however I think he looked a heap better than he has before (I've had to watch him every week as a pies fan!) I certainly don't expect him to be a star, however I'm thinking that he can average a 75-80 (big leap I realize) until after R10 and can use him as an easy step up to a premo forward, along with the R10 bye coverage. He's sharing ruck duties with Grundy this year, and they've committed to the experiment with a 2 year contract, so I feel like they will persist with him , especially with Darcy up back.

It's certainly a big risk, however I feel like for that little bit extra than Christensen (who I would likely have in his place) it has it's upsides!

I am only it it for a private league where we all throw in money etc etc........

So given it only starts round 3 what are your thoughts on including Danger from the start so that I dont have to use a trade to get him in the team for round 2 or round 3 ????

If not interested in overall I would definitely be starting with Robbie Gray. Will be a massive POD given he will miss rd1 through suspension and will almost certainly be in the top 10 forwards come year's end, if not the top dog.

    Hey mate,

I reckon that's a good idea, if you are only in it for League reasons

Myself, I am "trying" (keyword hahaha) to go for the main prize, so I've "ummed and ahhed" a bit on him..

But in your situation, I'd say go for it

    Good luck!

I like it mate.. I appreciate the "POD", "no-cookie cutter" line up! (Howe, Bonner, Merrett, Bont, Buddy)

    1) FYI, both Stef Martin and Gawn share the same bye round.. as does Goldy....
    2) I would down-grade Rayner and maybe another to raise enough to grab maybe McGrath? (Being a fellow Ess supporter, you'll know bout his potential to play MID and now DEF considering Gleeson is out for 12-14).

    Good luck mate!

I'd was more comfortable picking McGrath before Gleeson went down. I had him in my team for a while. I guess the natural progression will probably be defining though, he's a gun.

Is it a certainty though? There is no doubting his quality, especially in such a dull year for forwards, but he is coming off some fairly significant surgery and seems likely to spend less time in the mids compared to last year. Not to say he can't have scoreboard impact, but as a general rule small forwards aren't that conducive to SC scoring.

Especially given that Rd10 bye, for me he is the ultimate wait and see player.

I reckon Christensen up to Billings buys you more points.

I agree. Christensen up. You could even contemplate Cogs down to Fogarty (Gee) and Doodee up in addition to Christensen up, making Bonner D4.

Made a few last minute change, chickened out of Lycett.

D: Laird, Hibberd, Savage, Naughton, Doedee, Keefe (Murry, Finlayson)
M: Dusty, Mitchell, Kelly, Merrett, Fyfe, Cogs, Brayshaw, Holmon (Banfield, Barry, Kelly)
    R: Gawn, Martin (Cameron)
F: Greene, Walters, Lambert, Christensen, Stephenson, Ryan (Giles-Langdon, Fristch)

Really worried about that forward line batting thin. Can possibly drop a mid or defender to Fog/Bonar and upgrade Christensen. Thoughts?

D: Laird, Hibberd, Simpson, Naughton, Murray, Cole (Doedee, Finlayson)

M: Mitchell, Fyfe, Pendles, Bont, Selwood, Armitage, Brayshaw, Banfield (Holman, Kelly, Barry)

    R: Gawn, Lycett (English)

F: Heeney, Billings, Dahl, Sicily, Christensen, Fritsch (Ryan, Venables)

    $243,900 left.

Considering Dahl => Roughy, otherwise feeling pretty settled.

Any major issues anyone can see with the above?

    ^ I agree.

If you've taken some risks ie: Lycett, you'll want to be capitalising elsewhere to get a leg up on your opposition, surely.

Thanks gents. Mainly just retaining flexibility for changes (mid round 1 or before price changes in round 3), plus I don't see a compelling use for it at this stage.

What would you use it for?

    yay for Pendles :-)

Cole -> Brander for the Sicily swing and upgrade Christensen to a premium , can see Christensen scoring 50-60
