Yay for a new season and the most exciting time of mixing the ingredients for the cake that is SC success.

Once again, I have decided to do my annual SCS community service and keep a running trend of the most popular players going into round 1. I will try to update the thread once a week and give a %-last week stat for each player to show how they have moved up or down. I will also provide any insights that my mediocre SC skills brain decides is important.

Backs, rucks and forwards will include the best DPP as well as pure positions. Mids will be mid only. I will round to the nearest whole %.

The cliches will be lame, the nicknames worse and the cookie cutter will be sharpening its edges!

    Hope you enjoy it.

    Top job PC.

Had me very confused on a few of these names but I got them sorted.
Currently have 17 of this mob in my team.
I'll have to go to the Player X vs Player Y thread to seek advice on Rubbish@cricket v Cameron.

Surely Rubbish@cricket gets the nod with DPP. More of an opening for him too given they’re a younger list.

Also reckon it won’t take long for AdvancedHairHat to fall out

Yep, advancedhairhat will fall out. Can't run too fast with a fractured ankle.

Talk about terrible nicknames...truly atrocious this week.

SO, without further to do, let's see how how the leaderboard looks for this weeks Coaches Choice Awards!

    COACHES CHOICE AWARDS - 2018

    Overall
    1 - Gawn = 57% (was 54%)
    2 - NicNat = 46% (was 50%)
    3 - Fyfe = 43% (was 42%)
    4 - Laird = 43% (was 41%)
    5 - Dave's Ukulele = 40% (was 39%)
    6 - Heeney = 40% (was 39%)
    7 - Higgo = 38% (was 36%)
    8 - Dusty = 38% (was 37%)
    9 - Garlett = 37% (was 37%)
    10 - Ahern = 36% (NEW)

    In - Ahern
    Out - Danger

Bit of shuffling but only one new face. The Beard is easily everyone's fav atm.

    Defenders
    1 - Laird = 43% (was 41%)
    2 - Doedee = 43% (was 32%)
    3 - O'Shea = 35% (was 30%)
    4 - Murray River = 33% (was 25%)
    5 - OldmotherHibberd = 28% (was 19%)
    6 - Yoyo = 19% (was 20%)
    7 - Keeffe = 18% (was 18%)
    8 - Birchtree = 17% (was 18%)
    9 - Hurls = 15% (was 13%)
    10 - ScottishBrayshaw = 14% (NEW)

    In - ScottishBrayshaw
    Out - Goddard

Amazing how the %'s have increased this week, and how quick they drop away after the top 5 fav players.

    Mids
    1 - Fyfe = 42% (was 42%)
    2 - Dave's Ukulele = 40% (was 39%)
    3 - Dusty = 38% (was 37%)
    4 - Danger = 33% (was 35%)
    5 - TMitch = 33% (was 30%)
    6 - TKelly = 27% (was 27%)
    7 - NipCrip = 27% (was 25%)
    8 - JKelly = 19% (was 18%)
    9 - JOM = 18% (NEW)
    10 - USIndex = 16% (NEW)

    In - JOM, USIndex
    Out - ABrayshaw, AdvancedHairHat

Top 8 remain with little change, bottom two are new and as expected AdvancedHairHat has fallen out.

    Rucks
    1 - Gawn = 57% (was 54%)
    2 - NicNat = 46% (was 50%)
    3 - Rubbish@cricket = 20% (was 18%)
    4 - Cameron = 17% (was 15%)
    5 - EasyRyder = 8% (was 6%)
    6 - Hayes = 7% (was 7%)
    7 - Olongo = 6% (was 5%)
    8 - Grundy = 5% (was 4%)
    9 - Sauce = 4% (NEW)
    10 - Balta = 4% (was 5%)

    In - Sauce
    Out - Krooz

Well the current POD move is no Gawn and/or NicNat...

    Forwards
    1 - Heeney = 40% (was 39%)
    2 - Higgo = 38% (was 36%)
    3 - Ahern = 37% (was 33%)
    4 - Garlett = 36% (was 37%)
    5 - Rayner = 35% (was 33%)
    6 - Ryan = 25% (was 16%)
    7 - Petrocka = 22% (was 20%)
    8 - Rubbish@cricket = 20% (was 18%)
    9 - Keeffe = 18% (was 18%)
    10 - CousinofCyril (NEW)

    In - CousinofCyril
    Out - RGray

Heeney stays popular (not in my side atm...), otherwise it is pretty much rookies to fill out the top 10.

Based on ownership, feels like the average premium team structure is 5 mids, 2 rucks, 2 forwards and 3 defenders.

Once the season starts this should drop to 11 premiums as coaches are seduced by the likes to Stringer scoring 120 in a JLT game!

I find a player who reaches 60% ownership will be in just about every team you play, in your league. Assuming no one on this site is sitting in kindergarten leagues beating up the little kids.
