Yeah i like it. I think it's an under-utilised money generator, which i won't hesitate doing again this year.

I know it can be a bit of a risky move but as long as you can stay open to trading that player back in (probably with a bit of a discount) then it should be a part of your SC repertoire...or not not a part of your SC repertoire

Not for everyone though but that's the beauty of SC!

I think we were lucky last with Beams & Murphy being both $ 432,500.00 , then those that identified and jumped on Kelly , Yeo & Oliver were winner winner chicken dinner.

Are Sheed , Prestia , Coniglio , Redden etc all capable of that 105 - 107 + season or is it Petracca time ?

maybe it is JOM , Armitage or Griffen.

I am sure it will be someone just need to find them ?
Hey mate, i thought it was pretty obvious hahah.

I've got my money on either JOM or Kennedy from Carlton who are both in my team at this early stage. I doubt they will reach Oliver type heights but i don't think 100+ is out of the question with their roles in their respective teams. More importantly both should be able to keep the scoreboard ticking over while I upgrade around them.

My other midpricer is Jack Graham who is sitting at M8 at the moment. I like him and reckon he'll get a good run this year. No chance to become a premium unlike the other 2 but will outscore most rookies imo.

My other smokey, i'll keep to myself for now

I'd be lying if i said i didn't think at least half will become keepers but if not, i'll turn them into GnR without hesitation, especially if a rookie becomes a must have. This would have me behind in terms of upgrades but hopefully not in terms of overall points scored and that;s all that matters in my eyes. Also gives me time to see who the bolters are, if i don't already have them..but i'm hoping i do!

Cheers mate , sorry got distracted by Maxi's ton ........unbelievable.

Jaeger bomb is the obvious one , IF his knees hold up.

His first 2 seasons for the Gold Coast were as good as anyone , seriously hope he gets it right , could be anything.

Kennedy I thought I read he was having a delayed preseason (could be wrong).

I actually like his namesake from the club he left.

    Graham is tempting.

    I am interested in Armitage.

I like your thinking if they can ave around 85-90 then upgrade them.

Not sure the Dow's and LDU will get close to that.

A lot seem confident on Barry , Kelly etc and Holman (could not kick before) being starters I can't see them best 22.

Good luck.on your season and your unique (?) trading , you will never die wondering

And yes if all our starters became keepers we would be magicians.

Look forward to seeing your final team and tracking your progress.

Yeah i'm not that confident in a lot of the rookies which is a big reason why i've gone so mid pricer heavy. I guess we'll have a better idea in a few weeks/months time though and if one does put his hand up it won't be hard for me to get him in.

My current side I have 5 higher priced rookies in defence and forwards and 4 in my mids , allows me 14 players to build around.

If the cheaper rookies appear can then bring them in and update.

Pick the rookies first plus Danger and work from there.

I'm increasingly tending towards 5 premos in midfield.

Same. Ideally, I'd have 6 mids, but rookies are looking like it won't be feasible.

Was playing around with having 3 defender premiums and 4 forwards (including mid-pricers) as opposed to 4 defenders and 3 forwards. I guess in recent seasons the most reliable rookies have been down back whereas the forwards tend to be more volatile. If decent rookies present themselves, I think I’d be quite comfortable running a 3-0-3, 5-1-5, 2-0, 2-2-4. The mid-pricers up forward being Smith and Barlow and JOM in the mids.

A bit early to know the full extent of my structure other than my preference to go deeper in the forward than defence if the Rookies permits.

I currently have a 1-6-2-2 Keepers setup, with $3.625M left to spread across my remaining 19 players or approx. $191K per player.

I've intentionally selected 'high end' Premiums for the meantime to ensure I can draw on more funds if and when it's required. Of the current 11, only 5 are what you could classed as 'LOCKs', the rest are interchangeable depending on the circumstance as we get more information through the JLT.

Admittedly, I'm feeling it surprisingly difficult to choose premiums I like too. I reckon I'll just jump on whoever of the Sicily/McGrath types who become JLT hype picks.

Yep, like I've said a few times, premium MIDs and Gawn aside, I am really struggling to settle on my premiums, or even the potential group of premium players I like. Much more confident in picking rookies at the moment that I think will be in the running for a game come round 1.

Do we think there is such a thing as picking too many 'keepers' from the one team?

Right now I have five from the one team but only one is a POD and they are spread across all lines.

    Thoughts?

Hibberd, Oliver, Gawn, Petracca.... who's the 5th?

From the dons, Hurley, McGrath, Zerrett, Daniher, D.Smith could be a viable starter set

I think 4-5 from a team is probably the limit but it depends on how good the side is. Could see a side like Geelong with a lot of relevant players this season. Although back in the day, the lions were bottom 4 and had Hanley, Rocky, SMartin and Zorko
