Complete mixed bag of nuts here.
Looking at players only $400k+ I have:
    5 PODS
    4 Super PODS
    2 Ultra PODS

..... I guess you could say I'm nowhere near vanilla, or Cookie-Cutter.

Of course, if the Rookies don't get up for me, those numbers could change.

    My team is:

    1-1-6
    7-0-4
    2-0-1
    4-1-3
We're goin' to need a bigger boat...

We will see, I guess the issue with a 7-0-4 structure it leaves only one spot for Danger, and locks up space limiting the ability for one to jump on a bolter, I expect you have a plan to get him in, which I suspect involves sacrificing a starting mid such as Coniglio or the like.

Good luck with it, great to see you testing the boundries!

My side is pretty vanilla at this stage.

    It will either be a

    3-0-5, 6-0-5, 2-0-1, 4-1-3 or 3-0-5, 5-1-5, 2-0-1, 4-1-3.

Team 1 has no Danger, but team 2 has Danger.

That will be the decision that will come down to the wire

Unlucky re Ryder LITS...I have the Kruz myself.

I knew the risk with going Kruz, but I always take the risk on injury as opposed to risking scoring output. Ryder was my only other consideration for that R2 spot as I feel that they were head and shoulder above any other rucks from a scoring perspective. Alas, the SC gods obviously wasn't happy with the Top 2 Rucks from last year and decided to hand down his wrath.

The positive (if there's ever one) was they both managed to put up half decent score before going down, and outside Witts, the other Rucks haven't really hurt our choices for Rd1.

    And we're off...

Most of us have successfully navigated through the quagmire that is Round 1, except for our Chief and Commander Jay who seems to have stalled off the starting blocks!

Jay has rubbished the memo about forward Rookies being poor but has he pushed the envelop a tad too far? Should we even be surprised?

Rowan has intimated right throughout the preseason that his starting team will be selected on low ownership numbers, he hasn't disappointed.

It should come at no surprise then that Jay and Rowan's teams are the most unique of the group. The SC gods have not been too kind to their uniqueness for the opening round, but what have they got installed for the remaining rounds?

Stay tuned for another rendition of PL actions where the bumps will be fierce and the hits will be hard, only the strong will survive to covet themselves in glory.

Feel free to come by and add in your bit of banter, humour, or whatever takes your fancy. More importantly, I hope you enjoy your experience and learn as I have from the vast number of master coaches we have amongst the group.

Awesome table - lots to take in here, but my main takeaway is that there is quite a lot of similarity between the teams (with a few notable exceptions). Its going to be very interesting to see how the trade strategies evolve from here.

It looks like I'm playing Rowsus in the first round of League matches, so it will be interesting to see which one of us can get our team performance up to an acceptable standard by then

Glad that someone else saw something in Mundy (noticed that Obie started him as well).

More concerning is the lack of Oliver love...*Cough!Cough!*...Ben!

Oliver was in for quite a while, but then turned into Parker to free up funds, but then when I went back to a $600k Premo it became Zorko due to more track record and concerns over Oliver backing up his break out year. It's fair to say I wasn't happy about Zorko's output on the weekend, especially when the two alternatives went 123 and 149

I do have 3 other Demon keepers on other lines plus Fritsch so I haven't completely ignored my boys.

Also hoping Mundy goes ok as a 2.2% POD

It should be noted, that the Florent in my team was caused by my Super Duper POD S Reid being a late out, and only having Syd & WC players to choose from.

I'd like to think with Buddy kicking 8, that S Reid might have taken some of that action, and done ok himself.

My only planned trade this week is Florent to Sicily.
We're goin' to need a bigger boat...
