Perhaps I should concentrate more on Fantasy this year, currently 344 overall. Round 2 score of 2137 with Coniglio my captain.

Looks quite tightly bunched with every point worth about 150 spots.

All my premos got 92 or better except Merrett, so pretty happy with that.

Not sure Bonner is still worth getting in the $400s?
Had a shocker this week with 1,947. Now ranked 22,682.

Only had four tons, and one of them was from a rookie.

Will need to find a Crouch replacement this week, and hope for my ruck and forward premiums to manage more than a 75 average next week!

2,149 this week, up to 7,693 so a nice jump.

Ranked 703 for the week so a few things must have clicked.

I think I did Merrett and Brayshaw to Coniglio and CEY, looks okay at this stage.

Scored 2,123 for the week to jump 2,000 spots to 773rd overall.

Really happy with that. Stuffed up with my trades though as I traded Stef out (who went for 177) to Nic Nat to free up cash as Nic Nat was scoring similar but 220k cheaper... It ended up costing me 100 points this week alone!!

Apart from that, I think I'm in a good position to have a crack as I always start slow and finish strong.

1995 for the week, dropped to 4,790th

new recruits MacPherson and Taranto did not actually fire.

Ryan and ZGL both on my forward bench so will need to deal with that the best way I can.

Henry, Rioli and Polson look like the only options under $ 200,000.00 that have played to date.

Newbie question: do people just jump on first game rookies and cross fingers in this format?

How do you balance cash generation across your side with the need to ensure your rookies have some JS/longevity? Or is that less of an issue given more trades, eg?

very good question Darkie , and one I continue to struggle with myself in finding the answer too.

As prices change immediately you sometimes need to grab a rookie on debut and hope they string a decent number of games together otherwise if they only play 1/2/3 games they are not making much $$$.

This week I have Ryan & ZGL to deal with and only Henry , Rioli & Polson as options so hoping for some debutants.

Yeah that's it mate, You just have to jump on the kids without seeing them play or grab them in the 2nd week after a rise of 20-30k... Anything after that and they aren't really worth getting. You don't get them all right but gut feel will usually lead you down the correct path.

With the 2 trades every week... You just keep repeating the cycle and doing upgrades as your cash situation allows.

Thanks gents ... sounds like an educated guess with a bit more of a lucky dip element.

I've gone Ryan to Crowden and Murphy to Coffield. Only Guelfi was of much interest if the debutants, but he didn't play JLT and I can Mayberry grab him next week for Venables if he goes okay.

    J Kelly - > M Wallis
    L Ryan - > P Seedsman

and build up a little cash

Zerrett, Rocky & Zorko could be relatively cheap in this format in 3 weeks, hopefully they can improve their form though, maybe expensive "stepping stones"

Does anyone know if/how you can swing DPP players when trading? Want to do Barry out, swing O'Connor into MID and Mirra in, but don't seem to be able to. Is it just not allowed in this game or am I being thick?
