Last year we ran a series of short competitions that lasted 4 to 6 weeks, that cost $20 to enter, and the two finalists collected some money. They were run under the title of Knockout Bid

My friends and I used to make up different competitions, that cost $20 to enter, which were a bit of fun and would create some interest for 10 or 12 of us, over a 6 to 8 Round period. My mate Lee coined the phrase "I may as well just tear up $20, I'm no chance to win, but it's a bit of fun". Hence the name Tear Up $20.

The first competition starts in Round 1, and here is how it will work. The first 3 to 4 Rounds will be a Round Robin, and then the last 2 or 3 Rounds, depending on number of entrants, will be a knock out competition.

Two participants, lets call them Andrew and Bill, are drawn to play against each other. Andrew "won the toss" and picks first.

Andrew picks any player he likes, that has a SuperCoach price of $600,000 or less.
Bill now picks any two players he likes, that has a SuperCoach price of $600,000 or less.
Andrew now picks any player he likes, that has a SuperCoach price of $600,000 or less.

So both participants currently have 2 players each, now the twist.

Bill now picks a player that has a SuperCoach price of $500,000 or more, that will play for Andrew this week.
Andrew now picks a player that has a SuperCoach price of $500,000 or more, that will play for Bill this week.

And so the match is set. Each participant has 2 players they picked for themselves, and one player their opponent picked for them. Obviously when you are picking a player for your opponent, you have to choose a player you think won't score well that week.
Add the 3 scores and highest total wins.

The Draw for each week will be published by Tuesday.
The way you enter is to PM me 4 players, in your preference order, that are the players you want to choose for yourself. Then 2 players, in your preference order, that you would choose for your opponent. This method avoids waiting for your opponent to pick, before you can make your picks. I will just use the players, in the preference order you have given, and having 4 and 2 of each covers any double ups in selection.
Any player that is a late out can be replaced. If the participant doesn't notice the late out, he will be given the highest priced player that is still available.
If the late out is a player you picked for your opponent, and you haven't noticed/replaced him, then he will get the highest priced player still available, but is $600,000 or less.
The prizemoney structure will be announced when we know how many participants we have.
As an example, with 8 entrants:
Winner $110 and entry into the next competition
Runner up wins entry into the next competition.
$10 towards running costs of the site.

    Any questions?

    So who is interested?

Sound good, can you pick a non starter (like Docherty) for your opponent?

No...!!! Don't tear it up, handing it over will suffice.

No designated pool of players, just price restrictions.
Both participants will always have 3 players playing, no matter what.
If you tried to give your opponent Docherty, he would end up with the most expensive player at or under $600k that hadn't been chosen yet in that match up.

As clearly stated in the rules, should have my reading glasses on or at least read properly before posting.

    Sounds like fun, I'm in.

Not sure why - I don’t think I got past the first round in any of these last year Rowsus!
Maybe this will be the Diabolical year I’ve been waiting for?!

It would be great if we could get at least 8.
If we don't get 8, do you 6 want to play anyway?

Sure thing, does the money go to the same account as Tontine Skins money?
