interesting 9/10 have Barry and none have L Fogarty.

Glad I share that with the Top 10 pity I am ranked 15000 +

Banfield , L Fogarty , Holman , Kelly + 1 other seemed to be the best 5 starting rookie mids

    Thanks guys,

The top guys had more patience than me particularly with ZGL - whether they chose to wait out the injury period. At the time I think the worry was whether / if he would get back into the team after being out for a number of weeks and he would be an upgrade target when that happened. Maybe I need to reconsider when a trade of a rookie is justified.

    I went ZGL - Ryan - Henry.

May as well complete the circle and go Henry - ZGL when he is named next.

This has clearly come to bite a lot of these coaches at the top. If teams don't have an unused trade to go Fritsch to Guelfi, I can see a lot of Garlett 21s or even a donut in the top 10! 4/10 in this boat and I wonder how many more in the top 100!

Just an 'observational' update on the Rd4 Top 10 Teams to see how they've fared over the past 2 rounds.

    1st - Dewys Blues [from 5th]
    3rd - Flagpies [from 1st]
    4th - Goldy Locks [from 10th]

    25th - Great Saiyaman [from 3rd]
    36th - Sunbury Shafters [from 4th]
    38th - DAZZLER [from 7th]

    53rd - Greenvale Frogs [from 8th]
    62nd - harleysheroes [from 2nd]

    154th - HMPNP [from 9th]

    622nd - Pattaya Pirates [from 6th]

3 teams have remained whilst another 3 have lost some ground, 2 have drifted to be outside the Top 50.
1 team have slid out of the Top 150, and amazingly 6th ranked has dropped over 600 places!

Before I review the current overall Top 10 as of the end of Rd8, let's revisit the Rd4 Top 10 and ask the question: Where are they now...?

    1st - now 15th
    2nd - now 21st
    3rd - now 484th
    4th - now 326th
    5th - now 1st
    6th - now 701st
    7th - now 105th
    8th - now 119th
    9th - now 505th
    10th - now 45th

Only 1 team remained (now 1st), 5 other are still in the hunt, whilst 4 have significantly drifted towards 500th and beyond.

Here's how the Top 10 teams are looking heading into Round 9.

    Name: Leaders - Rd8.jpg
Views: 209
Size: 341.2 KB

1st leads by 96 points to 2nd, but less than 54 points separating 2nd all the way to 10th!

Outside Gawn, Rucks are an interesting observation:

    1 x Grundy
    1 x Sinclair
    1 x Naitanui
    2 x Nankervis
    5 x Martin

    Other POD players includes:

    Howe, Lloyd, Webster, Shaw, Seedsman
    Zerrett
    Acres, Billings, Deledio, Hogan

    v

Seedsman, Shaw, Selwood, OConnor, Nic Nat, Big O , Robinson, Gunston, Dixon, Keeffe, Henry

Only 6 players different from my team ( 2 of these collecting dust on bench in Garlett and Cameron).

    Acres, Zerrett, McRae and Martin.

All for a difference of almost 900 points ahead.

Goes to show captain selections and right moves at right time are everything.

Very true , only takes a few "wrong" selections and it can go pear shaped very quickly.

I think when Thanh posted after Rd 4 I worked out if I had 4 different selections in my original team I would have been Top 100.

I know Rowsus was very keen on Acres last season , can't recall him being very popular preseason , think many had Billings , Heeney , Smith all pretty locked + a breakout.

    Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Acres , Darling , Hogan would have been amazing to start with.

McRae I think got forgotten because he lost his F status , many preferred Bony and then Cripps and Mitchell from the Rd 12 bye.

Where are you currently ranked ?

    900 points is still doable.

Thanks Herbie, 4442, had a poor round 7 cost me 130 points. Only 200 points off top 1,000 which is my aim first and foremost.

wow 200 points separating 3,442 spots

Can be picked up/lost just on C selections.

3 more rounds until the byes , so depending on how sides are setup a lot of positions to be made up or lost.

Good luck for the Top 1000.

    Thanks Herbie,
I think captain selections critical to making up the difference and plan on optimising the byes to make up many more points ( but I guess so are 197,000 other people playing SuperCoach)

Only 2 with Dangerfield - will be interesting (to me at least) to see how many bring him in this round. That's my plan - wondering is it the right tactic?
