    2 of Fritsch, Spargo, Keefee and ZGL. Four premiums otherwise.

    Edit: Gray and Westoff to fill out my forward line come after round 11, probably one up, one down next week.

    Concerns for Yeo owners or for Dusty owners? Or both?

    Fyfe, Titch, JPK, Coniglio, Gibbs, Lyons, TKelly, Finlayson (Dow, Clark, D Fogarty)
    Gawn, Grundy (Cameron)
    Sicily, Heeney, Stephenson, Fritsch, Rayner, Higgins

    Got a bit under 450k in the bank so I'm looking to bolster up my forwardline this week by bringing in R Gray and McLean for Stephenson and Finlayson via DPP. Am I wrong to bring them in at these high prices or with byes coming up? Looking for some advice. Cheers
    Personally I don't see Gray as being overpriced, at $5,000 per point he's priced at 112, which is less than he's averaging this year, and similar to 2014-16. Some people would avoid him now because of his bye, although every player currently has a bye to come, so I personally wouldn't be too concerned about that.

    Mclean is similar in that he has a good bye, is looking like a top forward, and arguably isn't overpriced if he keeps going - he is just less proven. I'd probably get Gray over Mclean as a result if you only get one (although Mclean's breakevens is lower, so if you were definitely going to get both, just at different times, the reverse would be true - Mclean first, then Gray).

    One factor to consider is that you probably have a couple more upgrades to do than some others (I think you're doing really well for your first season, by the way - but you will learn heaps here, and will likely be better again next year). As a result, not overpaying for players is quite important. You could look at betting on some value options (not too many) to fill your D6, M8 and F6 type spots without compromising D/M/F1. Candidates could include Tuohy, Rocky, Wingard, or any other who has fallen a lot in value but has a good scoring history prior to this year, and isn't suffering from an ongoing role change, or suffering heavily from tags.

    It's also worth keeping a close eye on your byes as you trade around this time of the year. Some people don't look at them, some look at them but don't prioritise them, and some people plan well but get hit by injuries and omissions at the wrong time, so the bye period can be a great time to make up ground if you simply ensure you'll have a comfortable eighteen players on ground for each of the three main weeks.

    Best of luck.

    Here is something along the lines of what I'll be looking at over the next couple of weeks...

    Round 9
    Tom Doedee ---> Elliot Yeo
    Jeremy Finlayson ---> Tom McDonald

    $10,700, 17 Trades

    Round 10
    Sam Murray ---> Isaac Cumming
    Nick Holman ---> Ed Phillips / Brayden Ainsworth

    Round 11
    Tim English ---> Paddy Ryder
    ??? ---> ???

    That's What I'm Talkin' About

    I wasn't planning on trading JOM until his bye but seeing he's out with an injury and a B/E of 100, now is as good a time as any.

    Attachment 3911

    Option 1: JOM/CEllis to Oliver/Zorko, 10k left
    Option 2: JOM/CEllis to Zorko/Sicily (via Finlayson), 45k left
    Option 3: JOM/CEllis to Oliver/Heater or Hibbo (via Finlayson), 24k left
    Option 4: JOM/Doedee to Oliver/Sicily, 64k left
    Option 5: JOM/Doedee to Zorko/Sicily, 173k left
    Option 5: JOM/Billings to Zorko/Menegola, 183k left
    Option 6: JOM/Billings to Oliver/Menegola, 74k left
    Option 7: JOM/CEllis to Zorko/Sicily or Menegola (via Spargo), 45k/63k left
    Option 8: Doedee/Finlayson to Sicily/Yeo, 29k left (Holman and 2 of Spargo/ZGL/Guelfi start)

    In hindsight i probably should've just asked for suggestions lol but i've typed it all out now so yeah those are the main ones i'm considering.

    If i don't go with option 1, the plan will be to bring Rocky in after this bye. Too much value for me to ignore!
    I'd do Option 9, Billings/JOM out for Zorko and Oliver. Then bring in a FWD for CEllis next round with a downgrade ie: Holman -> Phillips or Richards -> Cummings. Buddy will come in for me next round - Lions, Blues, Saints!

    Naughton to Yeo locked for me.

    I think I'll stick with Billings to Ronke in the end. Doedee to Simpson is my only really other alternative. The standard obvious upgrade seems like a good move but I just can't feel very confident making that move with Simpson having Geelong @geelong and Sydney @SCG in his next three. Seems an obvious one to target post byes.

    Thoughts on which 2 should go first out of Finlayson/Doedee/Holman?

    Holman probably has the most money still to make (potentially). Finlayson’s DPP is handy so useful if he can get back to early scores. Doedee also been solid most of the season. Any thoughts?

    Can't speak for Holman, but I'm trading Doedee over finlayson. Doedee has a relatively higher score about to flush out of his cycle, and Finlaysons DPP means that one spike score makes him a very handy hold during the byes.

    Is very strange, even Horse said he wouldn’t play.

    Late out would be rough.
