Viney will come in this week or next. So Petracca midfield time will fade. Not sure whether this will be a positive outcome by having increased forward time and more chances to score. If its anything like Dusty being one out, it may not be good.

I got rid of Billings a couple of weeks ago with no regrets. Never had Petracca.

If there's one positive about Billings, it's that he has the perfect bye round.

Going to hold him in the hope that he starts pumping out 70s and 80s and at least scores better than a rookie over the next month. Will then most likely ship him off for a premo who's already had their bye round if he still looks like **** (which is likely).

Didn't have Petracca - decided to start D. Smith, instead.

Got rid of Billings last week, and it felt very good.

    (Still have Hibberd.)

I would go so far as to say that if I didn't have petracca already I would be trading him in this week. Think trading him out is a bad move. He was going OK but not great before the injury, nice forward role with good number of mid rotations, and looked (to me at least) like a big score was just around the corner. He hasn't been quite right since and obviously has been a failed pick so far, but obviously missed a fair bit of training after the finger injury and lost some fitness and touch. Not likely to be long-term issues. At 367k he is great value. Just from a football sense he is so talented, and exactly the kind of player you'd expect to be analysing next season as a break out option having closed out the season with a 100 ave after his bye. His role has queries on it with viney coming back but his dpp makes him the perfect option to loop at m9/f7 at a steal of a price. Perfect bye for most of us and has carlton this week as an added bonus.

As mentioned las week, I would likely hold Billings through being dropped, on the basis that if he returns the following week, there is at least an increased chance that his performance will have improved. I'd actually rather they drop him for a week than persist with the status quo.

Otherwise I may slingshot him to another player at his bye.

Have Billings and will keep for back up later in the year. With all the rookies hitting the wall at the moment you might as keep the guy that might come good.

Agreed. I hope he gets dropped cause I think he would improve his form when back.

If you are going to trade Billings out, I think I will hold him.
There is just something about your trading this year mate. You may have the power to play him into form when you trade him out.

I think Petracca just needs to gain confidence in that hand again - doesn't look as aggressive at the contest as usual, almost as if he's second guessing himself.

I'm going to hold and back him in to get back to some solid scoring - maybe even loop him for a few weeks.

Cash generation is paramount so rookies are my #1 priority.

I traded Billings to Oliver last week and gee it felt good to have that weight off my shoulders.

Still holding Petracca, the initial plan was for him to go this week. In hind sight I should have carried out my rage trade of last Monday Biilings to Ronke and Petracca to Oliver...

As I said the paln was to trade him out this week, but a few comments on this thread have got me reconsidering, lol

I think the main thing with these decisions is to make a call, execute it and do not look back. What will be wil be...

Tell me about it. I’m just gonna turn him into the most popular premium so I can ruin the fun for everyone

I think there’s merit in holding Billings but for my personal enjoyment levels I’m just gonna move him on and forget he ever happened. I’m still kicking myself for missing my trade to Sicily about a month ago; close to $200k ($100k gained and $100k lost) and goodness knows how many pts! It also lead me to trade Fritsch to Guelfi because I had the spare trade to use that week I’m pretty sure lol

On a positive notice, Billings will be nicely priced and the saints will have a good draw next year....

Started with both but said at the beginning of season I'd be ruthless on poor performances from breakout candidates.

Saw Billings play in R3 and him and the saints looked completely rubbish so went Billings -> Hogan (for 60k profit!).
Was facing a donut with Petracca out in R6 so went Petracca -> Gray.

Both those trade look great for now.

Worth saying that I also started with Lambert and traded him in R3 to Tom Mitchell after two bad scores (went Lycett down to Waterman to fund it) and since then he has averaged 103 and Lycett has made 150k.
So sometimes it works super well and sometimes not so great to be vicious on players vs riding them out.

If you've held these players 'til now, then I don't see why the sudden rush and urgency to want to move them now, especially 3 rounds out from the MBRs. It's not as if we have an absolute 'must-have' Rookies on the bubble to trade in for this round.

We currently have a plethora of starting Rookies who are approaching and/or have maxed out in their primary purpose of generating cash. This should be the priority, either upgrading or downgrading them to rejuvenate that cycle.

    Naughton, Finlayson, Doedee, Murray, Richards
    Banfield, Holman, Brayshaw
    English
Crowden, Higgins, ZGL, Waterman, Henry, Ratugolea, Garlett, Fritsch

I would be more comfortable in holding/playing them over the forward Rookie options from above as they are more likely to produce better scores/less likely to 'bleed' cash, but with the hope (however remote you may feel) of turning their form around over the subsequent rounds leading into the MBRs.

You may say that it's 'easy' for me to say that as I currently don't own either of them, and that would be absolutely correct. I did have Petracca up until last round when I moved him to the bubble that was Ronke, and if I had owned Billings from the start, he would've been dealt with very early on as is my trading mantra for this year.

This thread is not making my decision to keep or trade any easier. Eyes lit up when I saw the thread title... But now it's just confusion again.

Planned move was petracca to yeo. But his ddp may still come in use.

I've always had the belief that billings is worth keeping over petracca because his history of decent scoring far outweighs that of petracca. Billings has hit some incredible scores... While petracca, I don't think he has hit his BE of 125+ ever in his career.

Now I'm thinking of keeping. Arrgghhh I still don't know.
