Yep missed the 4 week bit, thought it was a corked calf.

If he’s out I’ll swap to Buddy or Hoff.

I'm not sure. So far as reporting injuries and/or their extent, Essendon are pretty bad. Think J. Daniher earlier this year. Now looks like he'll be out for the whole season.

Is De Goey worth a look in at 435k, potentially after his bye?

Seems to be playing a lot more midfield minutes lately..

Yes, I reckon both him and Wingard are worth a look if they continue to play through the midfield. Would take De Goey first, is in good touch and Bucks said he would like to play him through the guts more after last night.

the good news is heppell thinks its only a knock and he should be right after the byes. at this stage it is speculation if he is going to be out longer than 1 week unless we have a source that is close to the club. the negative towards smith is he hasnt played a full season for a number of seasons. so he has a history of missing games. i will hold at this point in time.

This is from the H/Sun injury list barometer

"Devon Smith had plenty of ice on his calf post-match but said he would be right to go after the bye."

Did Wingard play heaps more midfield last week? And is it likely to be a more permanent role?

is 2 trades to few to come out of the byes with but with an upgraded side and ok cover?

Just running through my plans and that is one possible outcome. or its 4 trades left with Hibberd at D6. think I would rather run out of trades.

Having watched the game, yes he did appear to play alot more midfield. The same can be said for De Goey.

Whether it is a permenant role change or something that occured due to the situaion is anybodies guess.

Blasted Walters... leaves me 15 before trading grrr and in a tighter spot than I would have liked.

I've got 2 trades I was always going to make locked in to give me 17 and am tossing up the use of the 3rd: I'm out of cash so it is either a downgrade or a sideways swap.

If Smith is right to go in R14 then I'd still rather have him than JJK or Wingard for the run home. I could swap him to Buddy but that seems like a trade that won't achieve much points wise, as Buddy still has a bye to come.

Other option is to downgrade, but all the players I may want in my team post-byes don't play this week (Ahern, J Smith, Mihocek).

So I'm thinking unless Smith is an LTI it might be better to just cop a donut???

    OUT Holman ($367,600)
    IN McGovern ($477,900)

    OUT Ronke ($321,500)
    IN JJ Kennedy ($397,000)

    OUT Murphy ($204,800)
    IN Mitchell ($603,200)

    Not sure about Gov.
These trades will only give me 18 on the park next week, with only one upgrade to a fullish team (no rookies on field). So depending on selections, maybe Guelfi to replace Ronke as an out.
If Lobb doesn't get up, he will probably need to go. Had high hopes for him but he has been very underwhelming.

Some news for us faithful few who still have Billings.
AFL website IN the Mix reports: it will be hard to overlook Jack Billings, who had 54 disposals and three goals for Sandringham,

Logan Austin could be dropped for Carlisle.

Verdict: Carlisle and Billings in for Austin and Weller.
