Comments: Had two zeroes on the field so am reasonably pleased with a smallish drop considering how screwed I was. My planning for byes was ok but just unlucky with Cogs, Martin, Laird etc all happening in the week with my most missing from byes. Kicking myself for picking Danger captain but it turned out not too bad with Gawn's poor score. I've been planning to trade Gawn for a couple of weeks so he's now gone, I've liked how NicNat looks. Macrae will be in next week (provided no unexpected injuries) so my team will be complete. I was originally planning to trade out Martin last week (even prior to his injury) tactically but ended up getting rid off Coniglio as concussions concern me for future performances.

Comments: Won all 7 leagues and moved up over 500 places this week! It feels good to be inside the top 1,000, but while i have a sniff i'm going to trade hard and try to make up as much ground as possible during the byes. If in the end i fall on my sword, then so be it.

    Trades Made: Doedee/T.Smith/Barry - Austin/Ahern/T.Mcdonald

Comments: Pretty happy with the week overall considering it was one of the worst weeks of carnage i can remember. Managed to get through it by not sideways trading any injured premiums and continuing to upgrade my side while also managing to climb a few spots. Was able to get 18 on the park by sideways trading a few cheap non playing rookies including Smith who i had for the whole of 1 week. Not ideal considering these trades didn't generate much $$ but gained a few points and a few more players in upcoming bye weeks. If Martin and Laird get up this week will have 19 playing with 15 of these premiums incl Rocky. Trades planned for the next few weeks are:

    Next week
    Coffield - Redman
    Ronke - J.Smith
    Rockliff - Treloar

    Start of rd 15/rd16
    Austin - Webster

Will leave me with 5 trades and a completed side for the run home. Fritsch on the bench with the ability to technically cover both fwds and mids with 1 of ahern/spargo in the mids and westhoff, mclean and heeney as fwd/mids. Might delay the Rockliff - Treloar trade for a couple of weeks if i trade D.Smith out this round.

1st now leads by 223 point. Closed the gap on the top 10 which is my goal overall. Good week from SCSBestoftheBest moved from 20th into 10th overall

Comments: Happy with this round, made valuable ground, only 16 on field in round 13, but will have a full quota in round 14 to choose from. Unfortunately, will have a handful of trades left after round 14 & will probably have a team with more pods than in a Mars bar pod pack.
I'll most likely not bring in Dusty or Danger, which is strange as they were must haves at the start of the year. Might work in making some ground on the leaders, but, might focus on leagues as the bird has already flown & being over 1600 behind, clearly tells me something, not good enough..lol
I appreciate all the comments on this site & helps make some decisions easier. I'm a risk taker & this leads to my downfall on most occasions. Good luck to all for the coming week & may you select your vc & captain carefully !!

Comments: What a week. In some ways lucky it happened amongst all the carnage because in truth my poor score is as much do to with all the underperforming premos as all the outs, so I would have fallen further in a normal round. Had nine players on the field yesterday, and not Oliver or McDonald, and it turned into one of those games you watch with a pit in your stomach. Just nothing went right and I could feel my season ebbing away. Oh well. One perverse good thing is it makes you realise how much can change in just one round, and how big a points difference you can make up (or lose). Fingers crossed it's in the right direction next time. Great to see so many doing well. Good luck all!

Last round was the second in consecutive weeks where I went defensive with my captain selection, instead of following my instinct. This has costed my team of some 'golden' points which I can ill afford as the current leader is not showing any signs of coming back to the pack. That's all about to change from hereon...

    Comments:
Good week, nice to jump up the rankings a bit after a tough month. Not much to say, running low on trades and cash. Hoping value in JJK and possibly Wingard will pay off. Hibberd has been shocking this year and I will be jettisoning him for the second time this year. TMac, finally a good score from a trade in.

Good luck to all over the remaining bye rounds. Now is the time to make those big jumps up the rankings. If you are in a position to win it - risk it to get the biscuit. You aren't actually losing anything if things don't work out so throw the sink at it.

Only 16 on field after Duman twisted getting out of the car, didn't trade to cover it because only around 40 points anyway, unsure of trades and have unbalanced my side with new recruit Boak in the midfield and in the short term stranded there, at least Boak is an improvement on Barry. Not happy with the short week as I start work at 4 on Thursday and might be looking at Bont to complete my mids.

    Heroes: TMcD, Oliver, Buddy, Mundy
Villains: Me for playing too safe with Gawn (c) and not jumping on J Smith in an effort to push Murphy's score to 19th

Trades Made: Dusty & Henry to Treloar & Buddy
Trades Planned: Looking at possibly 3 upgrades to boost my numbers as Rd13 is my worst bye round (last round was supposed to be my best and I barely got 18 on the park)

Comments: 'My greatest RISK now is to NOT take any RISKS at all'

Last round was the second in consecutive weeks where I went defensive with my captain selection, instead of following my instinct. This has costed my team of some 'golden' points which I can ill afford as the current leader is not showing any signs of coming back to the pack. That's all about to change from hereon...

All the very best to our other high achieving coaches thus far. Now is not a time to allow self doubt to infiltrate your thoughts, stay the course and don't be afraid to make mistakes. Execute on what you need to in order to fulfil your overall ambitions for the season. Let's have some fun while we're at it too!
chase hard Thanh, the amount of work you put into your team and time spent here with analysis/comments and stats is amazing

Villains: Captain Gawn, Savage, Boak, Walters for his low score + brain fade & the carnage in general
Comments: Had to make 3 trades just to get 18 on the park in what was supposed to be the easiest bye rounds so not happy about that. What took me by surprise was that I still managed a nice climb in overall rankings with a sub-par score below 1,600. This week looks like another challenging one so I am hoping that my premos in Fyfe, Laird & Dusty all make it back!

Points behind leader: More than I scored this week.

    Heroes: Wines, Zerrett, Webster, Lloyd
Villains: Dusty, Fyfe, Laird, Cogs, Sandy, Billings, Ridley, and T Smith for making sure I could only field a maximum of 17 this week.

Trades made: Cogs, Sandy & T Smith to Wines, Walters and Jacobs.
Trades planned: not sure which 7 outs I’m planning to cover this week?

Comments: I’m glad that’s over! Can’t believe I only dropped 400 spots - I guess all of my outs were popular - on the up side it could have been a lot worse if all the outs were PODs. Sandy to Jacobs trade was unplanned but gave me $200k and I actually don’t mind seeing him as my R3 cover. I would have kept Cogs, but with so many outs I had to trade out a keeper, and the switch to Wines was made as a bit of a POD move with so many looking at other Port players - it worked first up, but time will tell. I tossed a coin between Walters and Buddy and unfortunately decided to go with the DPP. Looking forward to this next round starting so I can put this behind me.
