Not a viable SC selection though. Will average in the 30-50 ppg range if he gets drafted IMO.

That is true. He's more of a shutdown defender.

If this guy did go to the Dees at pick 9, anyone got an idea what his price would be? Could be a good pick up given the state of the Dees list, you'd think he'd get some good game time and would be reasonably priced too.

Melbourne have one of the best fixtures in the early round next year. Could be a good cash cow. But then again with all the recruitments that Roos has picked up, especially in the midfield department, he may not get a look in so early. But who knows. Certainly will watch him during preseason games.

Paul Roos has been with the Demons for 5 minutes and already he has recruited apparently well but when you are rock bottom, only one way to go. Seems to have a vibe going as well. I guess one wonders at the woeful efforts of those in charge on all fronts the last few years.

You are not wrong there JW, such a wealth of knowledge here. Great that such coaches share it around.

Like Daryl from walking dead or tywin lannister from game of thrones, Paul Roos gets **** done (excuse my language). Getting the vibe is the most important thing for melboune this preseason. seeing new faces in teammates and coaching staff gives the players confidence and a positive mentality. I know that melbourne aren't going to go BANG!!! But small steps forward and better then small steps back like past failures of melbourne coaches and staff.

Jono O'Rourke looks a bargain at rookie price next year. Number 2 draft pick last year and only 123k. Surely gets tonnes of opportunities in 2014.

Does any one know why he did not play last year? Was he not ready, could not get into the team or injured?

    Good call NK

Jono O'Rourke had a leg injury in the NAB cup, then a broken jaw early season and did something to his shoulder towards the end of 2013. A pretty unlucky year for the young fella so hopefully he's had his run of bad luck.

I reckon a few of us have had a go a putting a team together, some of us may be interested at just the rookies we have included to fill our team aside from the premiums etc. See what you think, for me at the minute:

    D: McDonald, Cameron, Kolodjashnij, J, Byrne-Jones, Fuller
M: Martin, Michie, O'Rourke, Crouch, Garlett
    R: Currie, Thurlow
    F: Hogan, Kersten, Honeychurch

Martin, Michie, Garlett, O'Rourke, Hogan, Currie will appear in a few interim teams I think.

I hope me mentioning honeychurch didn't mislead or influence anyone's decision, because there actually wasn't much rationale behind it, his name was just the only one I could remember...
