MELBOURNE’S Clayton Oliver, Marty Hore and Shane McAdam will all be available to play this week as the club prepares for its ANZAC Day Eve double-header.

The Dees will meet the Tigers in their ninth instalment of the special marquee match at the MCG on Wednesday night, while the clubs’ two VFL sides will also face-off at the Swinburne Centre from 2:05pm.

Oliver, who underwent minor surgery on his finger, had successfully returned to main training this week, making him a chance to play in two days’ time.

“Clayton got the all-clear to sweat and integrate into training at the end of last week,” Selwyn Griffith, Melbourne’s High-Performance Manager, told Melbourne Media.

“So, he trained really well and is available for selection for this week against Richmond.”

Hore will join Oliver in being available for selection in Round 7, the Demon defender having worked his way back into the main group after being sidelined with a fractured thumb.

“Marty has integrated back into training seamlessly and has progressed really well,” Griffith said.

“So, he will also be available for selection this week.”

Great news on Hore, do you think he gets picked @Ben's Beasts? Would be nice to have some bench cover in defence

With Salem injured, Hore would have to be a decent chance. Salem was playing defence since Bowey got injured.

Geez it would be an awesome reprieve for me if Hore was selected in the 22 this week, save me burning a trade on him for no cash made. Have Hore, Reid and Stewart all stuck in the defensive line, would save me a boost as well. He's surely a huge chance a thumb injury i assume would mean he is fully fit as it wouldn't have impacted his running at all. Bowey and Salem are both out for another 3-4 weeks in a very like for like role to him..... in fact if he doesn't get selected now he might never come back in with both Bowey and Salem to return.

The last two seasons, Hawthorn beat the team who went on to win the premiership (the only side that managed to do this in both 22 and 23). Maybe this is a good sign for the Roos, as they are the only team the Hawks have beaten this year. I'm guessing you would get pretty good odds on the Roos winning the flag!

I do think the Roos are a chance this week at least. They really need to show something, as they should have been far more competitive on the weekend. The Hawks did come out and say the Suns game was unacceptable and they played much better this week - maybe the Roos can learn from that, as a team also in a similar rebuilding phase.
